This is the Armande by YEMA, a French brand that played by slightly different rules than the Swiss. While their watchmaking stayed a bit more conservative, YEMA moved with the trends, adding just enough of a French twist to keep things interesting.
In 1973, that resulted in this design: a wide, almost UFO-shaped case in solid silver. Bold, unusual, but perfectly in line with the 1970s vibe.
This example is in near unworn condition, with a sharp case, original strap, and even its original tags. Details like the sapphire crown show that YEMA didn’t hold back here.
The dial looks like tiger eye stone, but it’s actually a printed effect with a clear lacquer layer that has started to develop a craquelé over time. In watch terms, you’ll sometimes hear it called “spidering”. It’s technically a flaw, but one that does look cool.
